POMP DUCK AND CIRCUMSTANCE

More than 10 years of musical direction, compositions, arrangements and productions for the famous restaurant theatre.

Info

Bread and games were already a tried and tested means in ancient Rome to give people pleasure on several sensory levels at the same time. “Panem et Circenses” was also the name of the concept first realised by Hans-Peter Wodarz in Munich in 1990 and renamed “Pomp Duck And Circumstance” three years later. The restaurant-theatre in the “Salon Zazou”, a historic and air-conditioned mirror palace, not only entertains its guests with a fast-paced mixture of vaudeville, artistry and slapstick, but also spoils them with a veritable fireworks display of culinary delights.

INITIAL SITUATION

A show of high artistic and culinary quality requires equally high quality, strong and varied music, which has to fulfil different functions. It forms the musical framework of the event, accompanies the artistic performances, is often also part of the scenic action and serves as background music for the various food courses.

REALISATION

In close consultation with the respective directors, artists and producers, tailor-made pieces were composed and arranged, which were integrated into the respective overall concept of the show. Pomp Duck And Circumstace afforded itself a six-piece live band, peppered with great musicians. The unusual instrumentation with trumpet, saxophone and flute, violin and guitar, piano and synthesizer, bass and drums allows them to present a large repertoire of musical genres from baroque to rock, jazz and folklore.

RESULT

The music of Pomp Duck And Circumstance contributed significantly to the glory and success of the world-famous show and entertains its guests with esprit, variety and surprise at a consistently high level.
